01/01/08 AssetJournal R5000.0.0 release
AssetJournal R5000.0.0 has been officially released on schedule.
The new release contains the following highlights:
- InstallAnywhere install kits - CDI and Installshield
installers have been replaced by InstallAnywhere. This gives the
application a uniform install interface and will enable the application
to be delivered electronically.
- Java 6 support - AssetJournal has been rebuilt
and tested with the latest version of Java. This enables better
platform support (including Windows Vista*) and better application
performance.
- Support for all R5000 platforms - AssetJournal
had been built and tested on all R5000 supported platforms.
- Project storage optimized - Support for jpg
output has been added as a project parameter, this can drastically
reduce the disk usage per project. Jpg is a lossy image format
and jpg images are inferior in quality to png. The original images
are retained in native format, so it is possible to switch back
to png without any loss of image quality.
- User/Project Options - Part of an ongoing
effort to reproduce functionality users have come to expect from
OpenJournal but feel is missing from AssetJournal. This includes
the introduction of project options, TOC and HOME page settings,
workflow changes etc.
- Installation settings - an xml file that allows
the administrator/user to specify default values for various project
parameters etc.
- System tray icon - allows the application to
be iconified to the system tray.
There have also been several beta releases that have been taken
up by our more adventurous users and feedback has been positive.
09/03/07 AssetJournal beta released
A new version of AssetJournal has been made available as part of
the R5000 beta program. Contact your Landmark representative for
further information. The commercial release will be available as
part of R5000 towards the end of the year.
04/30/07 Badley's take over marketing and support
of MindShare
MindShare was conceived and developed by Badley Technology. Since
December 2000, however, MindShare has been marketed to the Oil &
Gas industry by Schlumberger. The marketing contract between Schlumberger
and Badleys expired at the end of 2006. By mutual agreement Badleys
have now taken over all marketing and support of the product.
